Biography

Deon Hotto Kavendji is a Namibian international footballer who plays for Bidvest Wits F.C. as a midfielder, and for the Namibia national team. Hotto born on 29 October 1990 in Omaruru and grew up in Swakopmund. Deon started his soccer debut with Blue Boys F.C. in Swakopmund as early as 2010. He got a two-year deal transfer from Bloemfontein Celtic to Bidvest Wits in July 2018. He made an appearance in 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier. Deon scored twice to give Namibia a 2-0 victory over Mozambique and claimed the 2015 COSAFA Cup title, which was the first international trophy Namibia won.  

 

Deon Hotto is one of the prominent players ranked no: 1 in Namibia, at South African club Bedfest, is number 3, where he plays the main position as a Left-winger. Deon in the last season with the Bedfest played 37 games six goals, 16 assists. Deon is an Ambassador for the Adidas sports brand, he selected following a stunning performance against Kaizer Chiefs where he scored a goal in a resounding 3-0 victory and scoped a title as a Man of the Match, the same trophy that he won twice. With Adidas, Deon joined the list of international stars the likes of Lionel Messi, Paul Pogba and others who representing the global sportswear and its brands in the world.

 

Deon made history when he became the first Namibian player to be Adidas Ambassador and awarded the Kick off Footballer of The Season beating his rivalries like Hlompho Kekana from Mamelodi Sundowns, Thembinkosi Lorch of Orlando Pirates, Lebohang Maboe of Mamelodi Sundowns, Jabu Maluleke of Polokwane City, Gift Motupa of Bidvest Wits, Mwape Musonda of Black Leopards and Highlands Park’s Mothobi Mvala to claim the award.
